Medical colleges and hospitals across Haryana have been put on high alert following rising number of dengue cases in the state.

Health Minister Anil Vij said on Monday that the health department and all medical colleges have been asked to remain on high alert. The state reported nearly 1,400 suspected dengue cases with over 400 cases have been confirmed so far, health officials said.

"All necessary medicines were being sent to the hospitals," he said here.

Vij said that directions have been issued to install machines in all districts to check dengue to help in timely diagnosis of patients and provide treatment on time.

He said that the health officers have been directed to carry out fogging in all villages, towns and cities.

Vij said that platelets separator machines have been installed in Panchkula and Gurgaon to facilitate patients suffering from dengue and malaria.
