Haryana Minister Anil Vij on Friday escaped unhurt when stones were hurled at his official car in Panipat, following which two men were arrested.
Though the Health and Sports Minister, who is a senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, and his driver escaped unhurt, the car's windscreen was damaged.
The incident occurred when Vij was leaving the District Secretariat Complex in Panipat, around 160 km from here, in his official car after attending a meeting of District Grievances Redressal Committee.
Police officials who questioned the two men said they did not seem to be mentally sound.
The accused told the police that they hurled the stones to protest against the dilution of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act after a Supreme Court ruling in the matter.
