Three northern Indian states - Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan - on Wednesday decided to jointly share information and coordinate on nabbing criminals.
A decision in this regard was taken at an inter-state coordination meeting of senior police officers from these three states chaired by Haryana Inspector General of Police (Hisar range) Anil Rao.
A special joint strategy was chalked out to strictly deal with people involved in criminal activities, a government spokesperson told IANS.
He said it was also decided to share and exchange lists of wanted criminals with one another and nab them with coordinated efforts.
It was also decided to set up common barricades on the inter-state borders.
Issues related to prevention of smuggling of narcotics and illegal liquor were also discussed.
The spokesperson said it was also decided that CCTV cameras would be installed at petrol pumps located near border areas and at border checkpoints to prevent any illegal activity.
Rajasthan Inspector General of Police Girdhari Lal Sharma and Punjab's Deputy Inspector General of Police Manish Chawla attended the meeting.
