Himachal Pradesh Governor Urmila Singh and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh Saturday congratulated child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi for wining the Nobel Peace Prize.
In his felicitation message, the chief minister said Satyarthi deserved the award for his crusade for understanding the plight of millions of children.
"Satyarthi is a great follower of Mahatma Gandhi and deserved kudos for running an NGO and we all need to support his NGO and come forward to protect the rights of the children and shaping their destiny for better," he said.
He said more such non-governmental organizations (NGOs) should come forward to extend a helping hand to orphans.
