The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Wednesday directed the state to file status report by August 3 regarding raising industrial pollution in state's biggest industrial hub Baddi.
The court also impleaded the Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Development Authority as party respondent in this case.
Taking suo motu notice of a newspaper report over rising pollution in Baddi, a division bench of Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Jutice Sandeep Sharma passed the orders.
With less than 50 percent industrial units sending their untreated effluents to the Rs.60 crore common effluent treatment plant set up in the Baddi industrial area, the plant is barely treating 11 million lt waste per day as against the proposed 25 million lt, said the paper.
