The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Monday directed the chief secretary, the police chief and others to appear before it on September 19 for illegal encroachment along National Highway-5.
Taking suo-motu cognisance of a media report, a division bench of Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and C.B. Barowalia directed the Project Director of the National Highways Authority of India and the Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to also be present.
It also sought fresh status report about the encroachment.
The state had filed the status report, listing the details about the encroachers along the highway, especially in Barog in Solan district.
