A cold wave continued to grip the hills of Himachal Pradesh Friday with Keylong town recording the lowest temperature at minus 12.2 degrees Celsius in the state.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district was the second coldest place with a minimum temperature of minus 5 degrees Celsius, an official of the meteorological office here told IANS.
The minimum temperature in Shimla was 1.7 degrees Celsius, whereas the maximum stayed at 12.4 degrees.
Dharamsala recorded a low of 4.2 degrees while the minimum temperature in Manali was minus 3.2 degrees and Dalhousie 3.1 degrees.
The Met Office forecast said western disturbances - storm systems originating in the Caspian Sea and moving across the Afghanistan-Pakistan region - would be active again in the region from Jan 21, bringing more rain and snow.
