Himachal Pradesh has set a target of production of 8.85 lakh tonnes foodgrains during the present Kharif season, an official said on Wednesday.
This included 7.30 lakh tonnes of maize and 1.32 lakh tonnes paddy.
Besides, a target of 5.4 thousand tonnes oilseeds, 1.50 lakh tonnes potato, 30,000 tonnes ginger and 8.86 lakh tonnes vegetables has been fixed, said a state agriculture department spokesperson.
He said the department is providing soil testing facility to the farmers for which 11 laboratories have been set up besides four mobile testing laboratories.
