Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman, who has been a part of the music industry for over 25 years, feels honoured that people of todays generation still sing his tracks.
Rahman appeared on children singing reality show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs Season 6" to promote the upcoming film "Mom".
He became nostalgic when he heard 11-year-old Shreyan Bhattacharya sing his popular single "Maa Tujhe Salaam".
"Your singing took me back to 1997 when I had sung this composition. There is something going on with this generation, they sing like 'ustaads' at such a young age," Rahman said in a statement.
"I'm honoured to be here on the sets of 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs' and furthermore honoured that the current generation is still singing my songs. I thoroughly enjoyed all the performances and must say that these kids are phenomenally talented and have a long way to go," he added.
The episode of "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs Season 6" featuring Rahman will be aired on Saturday on Zee TV.

Shamin Mannan to play chauffeur next
Actress Shamin Mannan has been roped in to play a chauffeur in the upcoming episode of "MTV Big F".
The story of the episode will revolve around a girl named Gayatri (Shamin), who is passionate about her job as a female chauffeur. Trying to carve a space for herself, she meets an entrepreneur Ishan Bajaj (Gaurav S Bajaj) as she drives him down to Pune.
Ishan's ideology about women and their capabilities are mildly tainted by his pre-conceived notions that they can never excel in certain fields. As Gayatri and Ishan meet, they fall for each other, but Ishan voices his embarrassment about letting the world know about their relationship due to Gayatri's profession.
"It's really amazing to see how things are changing for good for female cabbies. Around 10 years ago, nobody knew female cabbies would ever exist. But it's encouraging to see so many of them nowadays," Shamin said in a statement.
"Through this particular episode we have tried to show that women can also dominate an industry supposedly ruled by men. I would request the audience to change their perception towards these women.
"People usually underestimate women drivers in general too so its high time people stop stereotyping. And I had super fun driving around in this episode," she added.
The episode will be aired on Saturday.

Bohemia reminisces old days with new single 'Purana wala'
Rapper Bohemia has come up with a new single titled "Purana wala", through which he has reminisced his old days in the rap genre.
The track will be featured on "MTV Spoken Word".
"The rap songs that we have composed till date are a reflection of who we are as a person. When we thought about composing a rap for 'MTV Spoken Word', we knew it had to mirror our real emotions," Bohemia said in a statement.
"It had to be all about our stint with rapping and the things which have distinguished us from other 'desi' artists. The song 'Purana wala' reiterates the fact that certain things are forever and over the years become classics," he added.
