Prime Minister Narendra Modi while extending greetings for Eid on Sunday said he hoped that the festival will strengthen the bonds of harmony in society.
Speaking about the festival in the 44th edition of his monthly radio address "Mann Ki Baat", he said: "After an entire month of fasting during Ramzan, the festival of Eid is a harbinger of celebrations. I hope and believe that everyone will celebrate Eid with gaiety and fervour.
"I hope that the festival of Eid will further strengthen the bonds of harmony in our society."
Eid is expected to be celebrated on June 14, based on the observation of the new moon.
It marks the end of Ramzan -- the Islamic holy month of fasting.
