Friday, the 13th, turned out to be hot as hell for Delhiites with the maximum temperature soaring to 43 degrees Celsius -- making it the hottest May 13 since 2011, the Met office said.
The maximum temperature on Friday was recorded four notches above the season's average while the minimum temperature of the day settled at 27.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
After a comparatively pleasant April, Delhi has seen temperatures rising sharply during May -- earlier this month, on May 2 the maximum temperature was recorded at 44 degrees.
"Partly cloudy sky, dust storm or thunderstorm are likely to occur towards (Friday) night or early morning on Saturday," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
The maximum and minimum are likely to hover around 43 and 27 degrees, respectively.
Humidity on Friday ranged between 21 and 68 percent.
Thursday's maximum settled at 41 degrees, two notches above the season's average, while the minimum was 26.5 degrees, one notch above the season's average.
