Chinese telecom major Huawei on Monday entered the India's intensely competitive wearable market, with a watch powered by Android app embedded in it to stay connected anywhere and send or receive calls, texts, instant messages and e-mails.
"With Bluetooth connectivity for wireless headphone usage and offline music download support, staying active is made easier, while music can be started via voice commands, with users able to search for destinations and navigate their way using the same voice action," Huawei's India subsidiary said in a statement here.
The latest version of Android wear app and iOS (Apple operating system) users will be able to connect to the hi-tech watch.
"Wearable market in India is growing fast and consumers are looking for such a gadget that tracks health and fitness and looks classic and premium," said Huawei India vice-president (sales) P. Sanjeev in the statement.
The Chinese company collaborated with Mario Testino, Karlie Kloss and Sean O' Pry to bring out the watch, while for creating a watch for women, it collaborated with Austrian Swarovski brand.
Huawei follows a dual brand strategy in Indian smartphone market with Honor brand for the mass market and Huawei for the premium range products.
