Huawei launches two new smartphones

Chinese electronics giant Huawei on Tuesday announced the debut of the 'HUAWEI P20 Series' with the launch of two new smartphones -- HUAWEI P20 and HUAWEI P20 Pro -- that will be available in India from the next week.

"P20" with 5.8-inch screen features a Leica dual camera and "P20 Pro" with 6.1-inch screen comes with Leica triple camera and 5x Hybrid Zoom.

Both the devices feature a 24MP selfie camera with artificial intelligence (AI) beautification and 3D portrait lighting.

"We look for inspiration from artists to continuously evolve our approach to design and innovation. The 'HUAWEI P20 Series' builds on the legacy of our collaboration with Leica," Richard Yu, Chief Executive Officer, Huawei Consumer Business Group, said in a statement.

The phones also features a colour temperature sensor for better colour reproduction.

In partnership with Google, the new series supports Google ARCore delivering advanced augmented reality (AR) capabilities, the company said.

The 'HUAWEI P20 Series' devices support six-axis stabilisation and 960fps super slow motion, the company added.

It also includes on-device Prisma processing, which supports real-time filter

recommendations based on scene and object recognition.
