Chinese telecommunications companies Huawei and ZTE, as well as Korean Samsung all launched products on Sunday ahead of the opening of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) here on Monday.
Huawei announced a two in one Windows 10 device called the "MateBook" which is a 12-inch tablet, which is only 6.9 mm thick (the same as an iPhone6).
The device has a 10-hour battery life and the LCD screen has a resolution of 2160 x 1440, while weighing 690 grams and with an Intel m: dual core m3, m5 y m7 hasta 3,1 GHz processor, Xinhua reported.
"One of the reasons we were so excited about this product is that is really pushing the boundaries of design, in how thin it is, in how light it is, in features and capabilities. I certainly believe that Huawei is absolutely making a smart move by entering with a device like this 2in1," Rupal Shah the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and General Manager of Intel China, told Xinhua.
Shah also explained that the device was born out of Huawei's desire to "really take leadership in new markets."
Meanwhile ZTE launched the Spro Plus mini smart projector, which has an 8.4 inch 2560 x 1600 pixel Super AMOLED display and is powered by a Snapdragon 801 or 625 processor.
It comes in Wi-Fi and LTE variants, has support for VoLTE and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, while its projector is a 500 lumens WXGA resolution laser unit with a battery life for around 4 hours continuous video streaming.
Samsung meanwhile unveiled its latest Galaxy S7 smartphone as it battles to maintain dominance at the high-end of the Android market.
The new Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge add IP68 waterproofing and a microSD card slot to the design for the S6.
The S7 has a 5.1 inch screen with a curved glass back, while the S7 Edge has a 5.5 inch screen which is curved at its left and right sides and is one of the narrowest "phablets" around.
