Two employees of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) were booked on Tuesday on charges of abetting the suicide of a former colleague, police said.
Sub-Divisional Officer Hari Singh Jhakar and clerk Ramesh Saini were booked for the extreme step taken by former HUDA revenue official, 35-year-old Kamaldeep.
Kamaldeep, from Sonipat district in Haryana, joined HUDA in July 2012 on a contract basis.
His father Mahender Singh alleged that his son killed himself because of "mental torture" by the accused officers.
He told police that his son's tenure was up to March 31, 2015 but his services were ended in November without giving any reason.
He alleged that the accused demanded Rs.2 lakh from his son to extend the contract.
Kamaldeep was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his government allotted house at Sector 46 here. A police officer said the two accused would be arrested soon.
