Delhi experienced a humid Monday, with the maximum temperature three notches above the average at 36.4 degrees Celsius and humidity over 90 percent. There is hope of a respite Tuesday with light rain and thundershowers likely in some areas of the city.
"The skies will remain generally cloudy with rain and thunder storm occurring in some areas of the city," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.
"Tuesday's maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 34 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively," added the IMD official.
The minimum temperature Monday settled at 26.8 degrees Celsius - average for this time of the year, while the humidity hovered between a high of 92 percent and a low of 61 percent.
Sunday's maximum and minimum temperature settled a notch above the season's average at 37.2 degrees Celsius, and 28.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.
