Residents of various colonies developed by private builders sat on a hunger strike here on Tuesday demanding takeover of builder licensed colonies by the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG).
The residents of DLF Phase-1 to 4, Sushant Lok-1,2, 3, Suncity, Ardee City, South City-1, 2, Malibu Towne, Mayfield Garden sat on a seven-hour hunger strike at the Mini Secretariat (outside Deputy Commissioner Office),
The residents protested under the banner of Gurgaon Citizens Council. They also submitted a memorandum for Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar through the Deputy Commissioner T.L. Satyaprakash.
They said that authorities earlier promised to take over the builder licensed area of DLF City Phase I, II and III, Sushant Lok and Palam Vihar on various dates and finally by the first week of August this year.
They alleged that the deputy commissioner cannot solve the aggrieved residents problems, rather he is more concerned about the builder. Now, he has been given the additional burden of Commissioner of MCG.
