I am not required to attend court and I have already "joined the investigation" as was expected of me, Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal told reporters here after a brief visit to the Crime Branch office Saturday.
Tejpal, who was grilled for two hours Friday, was called to Goa Police unit Crime Branch office near Panaji again Saturday for questioning.
"I am not required to attend court. I was required to join the investigation and I have joined the investigation," Tejpal said in a brief comment outside the office before leaving in a car.
He was accompanied by three people, which included his brother Minty Tejpal and members of his legal team.
Tejpal's interim bail period expires at 10 a.m. Saturday and if he is not granted anticipatory bail, he is expected to be arrested by police who have sought his custodial interrogation in a sexual assault case against him.
