Connoisseur of luxury fashion wear Rohit Bal's latest collection Kehkashaan for FDCI India Couture Week 2016 -- showed a cultural blend of elements from Russia and India leaving guests mesmerised.

The offsite show at the newly revamped Bikaner House here was in raptures as Bal, who showcased over 25 heavily embroidered and bejewelled ensembles, featuring silhouettes ranging from floor sweeping anarkalis, majestic lehengas, dramatic robes, ravishing gowns, elegant Jodhpuri pants and jackets.

The collection saw a wide array of beautiful hues moving from white, black and wine. Bal, also experimented with heavily embellished motifs -- which ranged from birds to florals. The 53-year-old, who looked dapper in a black velvet Sherwani and white pyjama, also showcased his signature peacock and lotus motifs in intricate work of gold zardozi and embellishment.

When IANS tried to reach the designer for talking about the collection, Bal, was unavailable to comment.

The backdrop which was decorated with withered trees, instrumental music and dim lighting added too much drama to Bal's show.

The accessories were eye catching too! The jewllery for Bal's showAIn association with Shri Ram Hari Ram Jewellers Dariba Kalan, saw a heavy use of diamonds, emeralds and rubies for neckpeices.

Another highlight was the use of bejeweled headgear seen on male and female models, which resembled to those worn by the Czars and the Czarinas from Russia.

The five-day gala, where as many as 11 designers showcased their dazzling couture collections came to an end with Bal's show on Sunday. The fashion gala saw the who's who of fashion industry and politics such as Adesigners J.J. Valaya, Rina Dhaka, Rahul Mishra, Samant Chauhan, entrepreneur Suhel Seth and Rajya Sabha MP Renuka Chowdhury.
