Actor and musician Idris Elba believes that he looks like "s**t in the mornings".

The 43-year-old actor doesn't see himself as a sex symbol and fails to understand why so many people praise him for his looks, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"When I wake up in the morning and look in the mirror, I look like s**t. I don't know what everyone else is looking at," Balance magazine quoted Elba as saying.

The actor who also performs as a disk jockey (DJ) under the name Big Driis has been given the title of the "the sexiest actor alive" by Glamour magazine for the second year in a row, in its May 2016 issue.

However, the actor shared that he is not into the "whole fame thing" and doesn't have "celebrity friends".

"I'm not into the whole fame thing. I don't have celebrity friends. I have the same ones I had from when I was a kid and for me, it's about my family. I would like to my entire family happy and secure. That's a lifelong dream of mind: to make them happy," he said.

The "Luther" actor has two children Isan, with his ex-wife Kim Norgaard and son Winston with former girlfriend Naiyana Garth.
