The 47th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will showcase a special package of short films which were recently awarded at the Swachh Bharat Film Festival.
Apart from regular curated packages, IFFI will be screening the short films which were honoured at the Swachh Bharat Film Festival, organised and curated by National Film Development Corporation on behalf of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, earlier this month in Delhi.
The first prize went to "Murga", directed by Katyayan Shivpuri, a debutant director from Maharashtra.
"Murga" will be the opening film under this special section of short films, read a statement.
The film promotes the idea of clean India and has "Murga" as the metaphor depicting the victims that citizens have made of themselves and of the children by not keeping the surroundings clean.
The underlying theme of Swachh Bharat comes alive in an engaging way in these films that have been directed by filmmakers as young as 10 years old from various parts of the country.
The short films have been shot in various officially listed languages with subtitles in English and the aim to connect with every citizen in view of their responsibility to keep the country clean.
Other short films that are slated to be a part of this special section include films like "Nanha Doot" by Sudhanshu Sharma, "Chembuku Moodindi" (The Dying Vessel) by K.V.K. Kumar, "Sarkarmi Rati Wadho" by Akshay Danavale, "Manini" by Praveen Vyas and "Shelfee" by Suyash Shinde.
The 47th IFFI will be held from November 20 to 28 in Goa.
