The Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur has been awarded by the Indian Intellectual Property Office for being the top academic institute for patents in 2016, its director said on Saturday.
"IIT Kharagpur Awarded Prize for 'Top Academic Institute for Patents 2016' by Government of India -- Our "100 Patents Drive" Efforts are now giving Results. Congratulations to all, especially the Core Team," IIT-Kgp director Partha Pratim Chakrabarti said in a Facebook post,
Chakrabarti shared a letter by the union commerce and industry ministry stating the institute has been awarded the prize for 'Top Academic Institute for Patents 2016'.
The award will be given on April 26 in Delhi by Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
