Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday said the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) should be smooth and benefiting all.
"The implementation should be smooth and take care of all doubts and concerns to benefit the common man, trade, commerce and industry," he tweeted.
Congratulating the people for the roll out of the new tax regime, he said Odisha played an important role in making the reform a reality.
The GST was launched in Parliament at the stroke of midnight, much like the solemn function which marked the country's independence.
Meanwhile, renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a sand sculpture at the Puri beach welcoming the new tax system.
