India A need another 304 runs to win

After an interesting day of cricket Monday, India A were set for a tricky chase as they need another 304 runs with nine wickets in hand for a clean sweep against South Africa A on the final day of the second first class match here Sunday.

Set a target of 307, India ended the day at 3 for one with skipper Cheteshwar Pujara batting on two and nightwatchman Shahbaz Nadeem yet to open his account.

The only wicket to fall was that of opening batsman Murali Vijay, who fell for a duck, being bowled out by pacer Beuran Hendricks.

It was an interesting day of cricket as 10 wickets fell for 225 runs.

Resuming the day at 145 for six in the first innings, India suffered a batting collapse and lost four wickets for 56 runs before being bowled out for 201 runs in the first innings. They trailed by 140 runs as South Africa made 341 runs in the first innings.

South Africa A pacer Hendricks (5/36) and off-spinner Simon Harmer (4/74) ripped apart the Indian batting. Parvez Rasool remained unbeaten on 32 while Pujara top scored with 54.

South Africa A made 166 for five in the second innings before making a bold declaration. Dean Elgar made 62 while skipper Justin Ontong made 35.
