Condemning "in the strongest words" the terror attack in Istanbul that claimed 29 lives, India on Sunday said it "stands in solidarity with the people of Turkey".
"India condemns the terror attacks that occurred in Istanbul on December 10 (Saturday) in the strongest words and stands in solidarity with the people of Turkey," the External Affairs Ministry said in a statement.
"We offer deep condolences to the bereaved families and wish speedy recovery to the injured," it said.
At least 166 persons were injured in twin explosions that rocked central Istanbul on Saturday night.
"Terrorism in any form and manifestation is completely unacceptable."
"The heinous attack again highlights the urgent need for collective resolve on the part of the world community against the scourge of terrorism," the statement said.
Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said a moving car was detonated targeting riot police on duty near a stadium in the district of Besiktas, where a football match had ended about 90 minutes earlier.
Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus said the blast occurred soon after the fans had left the stadium.
A man blew himself up in Macka Park across the stadium a minute later, Soylu said.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed to "continue our struggle" despite more bloodshed.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks but a series of bombings in the country this year have been carried out by Islamic State terrorists.
