India has requested Britain to extradite 15 fugitives, the government said on Tuesday.

Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary told the Lok Sabha that India was in constant touch with the British government to facilitate the extradition of the fugitives.

He said in a statement that a British minister visiting New Delhi took the stand that these matters were sub-judice in British courts.

But the British minister promised cooperation "on a case-to-case basis", Chaudhary said, without giving details.
