Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Thursday said his government made sincere efforts to improve relations with the new government in India, but the efforts were not reciprocated, media reported.

Addressing a gathering of overseas Pakistanis in Bahrain, he said that India cancelled the foreign secretary-level talks because of the Pakistani high commissioner's meeting with the Kashmiri leadership, which has been a practice for 60 years, Radio Pakistan reported.

The prime minister said Pakistan desired to have good relations with all its neighbours.
