India, South Korea ink MoU to enhance air connectivity

India has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South Korea after negotiations here on October 14-15 to enhance bilateral air service cooperation between the two countries, it was announced on Friday.

Under the MoU, the capacity entitlement for both the countries have been increased from existing six services per week to 19 services per week.

Also, the two additional points of call -- Chennai and Bengaluru -- have been granted for South Korean carriers, the civil aviation ministry said.

Apart from Tokyo and Los Angeles, two additional beyond points of call -- Seattle and Vancouver, have been granted for Indian carriers.

The ministry also said in order to increase seamless connectivity for the benefit of passengers, both sides have agreed to allow domestic code-share to any four points in their respective countries.
