As India and Japan strengthen their defence ties, an Indian stealth frigate will participate in an international fleet review being hosted by Japan next month, an Indian Navy official said.
According to the official, with Make in India being the focus at present, India will send an indigenously built Shivalik class multi-role stealth frigate, the first such to be built in the country, for the review.
The main features of the class are its stealth characteristics and land-attack capability. The ships incorporate structural, thermal and acoustic stealth features.
In addition to India, South Korea, US, Australia and France will also join the international naval review.
The fleet review, being hosted by Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force, is scheduled for October 18 in Sagami Bay south of Tokyo.
