India-US military exercise starts Sep 17

The combined India-US military training exercise "Yudh Abhyas 2014" will be conducted from Sep 17 to Sep 30, a defence ministry statement said Friday.

This is part of the ongoing defence cooperation between the two countries.

"The training exercise will be conducted in the foothills of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand under the aegis of Garud Division and Surya Command," the statement said.

It added that Indian troops and their US counterparts will hone their skills in the exercise which is the 10th in the series of combined military training exercises between the two countries.
