Three days after a major fire broke out in IndiaMART office and killed five people in Rajnagar area, three FIRs were registered against the landowners and IndiaMART officers for causing death by negligence and forgery.
The first FIR was lodged by the police against the building owner, his son and the branch manager of the IndiaMART under Section 420 and 304 A (causing death by negligence) of IPC on May 15, 2016.
The second FIR was lodged by Ratna Dwivedi the mother of the victim Ritam Dwivedi against the owner of the building and IndiaMART branch Manager Abhishek Mehta under Section 304 A on May 17, 2016.
The third FIR was registered on Wednesday by the father of the victim Chandra Prakash Tyagi against building owner Radheshyam Sharma, his son Rajneesh Sharma, branch manager Abhishek Mehta and the IndiaMART owner Dinesh Agrawal under Section 304 A.
"The land owner of the IndiaMART building was found at fault. The plot number R-14/6 was sold for residential purpose by the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA). The present owner bought the plot from a private person. He applied for the compound and deposited Rs.5 lakh as requisite fee. But his request was turned down. The plot owner had been penalised for conducting commercial activities against the land use in the past," said GDA Secretary Ravindra Godbole.
At least five IndiaMART executives were killed and six injured after a major fire broke out in an office of IndiaMART in Raj Nagar area of Ghaziabad on Saturday.
The online marketplace firm was allegedly carrying out commercial activities in a residential building.
