Indian chess players Koneru Humpy and Dronavalli Harika, with 5.5 points, trailed three points behind leader Hou Yifan of China in the 2013-2014 FIDE women's grand prix chess tournament here Monday.
Hou virtually claimed the fifth leg of the tournament, garnering 8.5 points out of a possible of 11 after ten rounds.
Another Chinese player, Ju Wenjun, trailed at second place with 7 points, followed by Elina Danielian of Armenia and Nana Dzagnidze from hosts Georgia, on 6.5 and 6 points respectively.
The fifth and penultimate leg of the 2013-14 FIDE women's grand prix concludes Tuesday with the 11th and last round. This season's grand prix tournament closes with the sixth leg which is slated to be held between August and September in Mongolia.
The standings are as follows:
Hou Yifan, China, 8.5 points (7 wins, 3 draws); Ju Wenjun, China, 7 points (5 wins, 2 draws, 1 defeat); Elina Danielian, Armenia, 6.5 point (4 wins, 5 draws, 1 defeat); Nana Dzagnidze, Georgia, 6 points (4 wins, 4 draws, 2 defeats); Koneru Humpy, India, 5.5 points (3 wins, 5 draws, 2 defeats); Antoaneta Stefanova, Bulgaria, 5.5 points (4 wins, 3 draws, 3 defeats); Dronavalli Harika, India, 5.5 points (2 wins, 7 draws, 1 defeat); Anna Muzychuk, Ukraine, 5 points (3 wins, 4 draws, 3 defeats); Alexandra Kosteniuk, Russia, 4.5 point (2 wins, 5 draws, 3 defeats); Zhao Xue, China, 2.5 point (5 draws, 5 defeats); Bela Khotenashvili, Georgia, 2 point (4 draws, 6 defeats); Nafisa Muminova, Uzbekistan, 1.5 point (1 win, 1 draw, 8 defeats).
