Designer Anand Bhushan, who has forayed into the market for children's wear, believes Indians need to up their game in terms of fashion as it still is a "bag of potatoes".

He has tied up with the online luxury kidswear platform Little Tags.

"I remember someone saying the Indian fashion is a bag of potatoes and I completely agree with it. We have a very long way to go. We are fabulous in terms of our craftsmanship, but in terms of design, we have a long way to go. We are not even catching up," Bhushan told IANS.

To bring a change in the fashion industry in India, the alumnus of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and the National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi, says "it is a long process".

"When we see our veteran counterparts, there is a gradual process they followed. We (the present generation) somehow have sort of just jumped from our traditional textile, and now we want to get into this very modern space... With that entire jump, we are breaking our legs," said Bhushan, who has used human engineered fabrics such as acrylic, steel, leather and copper binding for his creations in the past.
