Indian jailed for molesting maid in Dubai

A 26-year-old Indian been jailed for three months for molesting a maid in the lift of an apartment building here.

The Dubai Criminal Court was told that the juice bar worker, identified by his initials, MR, followed the maid into the lift and molested her while on his way to make a delivery at the apartment building, The National reported Monday.

The maid said the defendant grabbed her from behind and tried to kiss her on the lips when she was returning after buying groceries.

"No one heard but as the lift opened in the second floor I ran out," the maid was quoted as saying.

The man, however, insisted that he had only held the woman's hand with her consent.

He will be deported after his sentence.
