British boxer of Indian origin Sanjeev Singh Sahota has been signed on for one of the undercard fights for Vijender Singh's WBO super middleweight Asia Pacific title bout scheduled to be held here on July 16.

Sahota, who competes in the super lightweight (60kg) category, will be contesting in a four-round bout although his opponent is yet to be named.

"Honored to be fighting on @boxervijender undercard on his big title fight! Go get it bro????Lets make Indian history! "Lets get ready to rumble in Delhi India 16/7/16," Sahota tweeted on Thursday.

Sahota made his debut in the professional circuit in April and has won both his fights so far. The 24-year-old had an excellent record during his amateur career, winning 31 fights with four losses on points and two draws. He had beaten the Spanish national champion in his last amateur fight.

The remaining boxers for the undercard have not been finalised yet and are expected to be announced next week.

The WBO super middleweight Asia Pacific title bout will see Vijender take on Kerry Hope of Australia at the Thyagraj Sports Complex here. Hope, a former European champion, is more experienced and talented than Vijender's previous opponents and is expected to be the toughest challenge of the Haryana lad's professional career so far.

The winner of the contest will also clinch a top-15 spot in the WBO rankings.
