At least 34 Indian and Pakistani schools in Dubai will adopt a parent-school contract in April 2015, an initiative by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority is responsible for the growth, direction and quality of private education and learning in Dubai.
During the first two phases of implementation, 24 schools adopted the contracts, which covered 38,624 students.
More than 80,000 students of 34 Indian and Pakistani schools in Dubai will be covered in the new phase, said a statement issued by the KHDA.
The parent-school contract has been introduced to ensure constructive relationship between schools and families to make them aware of their duties and responsibilities.
The parent-school contract includes refund and admission policies, school fees, attendance and punctuality, as well as health and safety provision and transportation.
This year, it will become mandatory in all Indian and Pakistani schools, accounting for approximately 33 percent of the total students in Dubai's private schools. As part of student registration, all parents must sign the contract.
