A six-member delegation of the State Islamic University of Indonesia Friday visited the Aligarh Muslim University and discussed the possibility of greater cooperation in study and research between the two countries.
A student exchange programme was agreed upon by the two universities.

Kuswadi said there were many students in Indonesia who wished to study in India, especially at AMU.
Rohimin, dean of the State Islamic University of Indonesia, pointed out that there were particular areas of study like Islamic Finance, Islamic Banking, Islamic Theology and Islamic Studies in which student exchange progarmmes could be undertaken.
Brig (retd) S. Ahmad Ali, pro-vice Chancellor of AMU, introduced the Indonesian delegation to the university and highlighted specific areas of mutual interest.
