Indra Nooyi tastes South Indian dishes made from oats

One of the world's most powerful women, Pepsico Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi visited a traditional eatery here on Tuesday to taste delicacies like appam, dosa and idlis - made from oats.

Nooyi, who was born in Chennai, visited the Vasantha Bhavan Hotel in Vadapalani here to taste the delicacies made from Quaker Oats, a company product.

"The company seems to want to promote its Quaker Oats in South on the plank it is suitable to make South Indian delicacies," a hotel employee, who did not want to be named, told IANS.

"The dishes were made by their own chef - Vikas Khanna - and our people in the kitchen assisted him," he added.

Khanna is the nutrition ambassador for PepsiCo India.

According to a person who was present at the venue, Nooyi came and tasted the dishes and did not speak to any media.
