A girl barely four years old was allegedly raped by an 11-year-old boy here, police said on Sunday. The accused has been taken into custody.
According to police, the girl, aged three years and eight months, was raped by boy on Friday noon n outer Delhi's Mangolpuri are.
A senior police official told IANS that the boy, who resides just 15 meters away from the girl's house, allegedly took away the girl with him on Friday noon into a nearby park and raped her.
When the girl started crying, he abandoned her and fled, police said.
The girl then herself reached her home and informed her mother about the incident, after which her family approached police and filed a case.
"The boy was taken into custody and sent to child welfare committee and a case under sections of 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and POSCO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act," the official said.
