An inspector of the Delhi Police has been sent to the police lines on the charge of assaulting a hotel owner in South Delhi during a demolition drive.

"An administrative enquiry too is on against the officer," Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Mandeep Singh Randhawa told IANS.

The action against Inspector Pradeep Paliwal, the SHO of Sun Light colony police station, was taken after a video clipping of the assault was submitted to senior officials by the complainant.

In the video, Paliwal was seen slapping the hotel owner in the Sun Light colony area where the demolition drive is on for over a week.
