Brazilian club Internacional has denied reports of interest from Liverpool in Brazil striker Leandro Damiao.
Local media Friday said that Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers was seeking to secure the 24-year-old before Monday's European transfer deadline. But Internacional director Luis Cesar Souto de Moura said no contact has been made with any club regarding the forward, reports Xinhua.
"There has been nothing from England, not even an enquiry. Our aim is to hold on to him because he adds quality to our squad," Moura said.
Damiao has also reportedly caught the eye of Tottenham Hotspurs, Napoli and Zenit St. Petersburg during the transfer period. He was the leading scorer at last year's London Olympics with six goals but missed Brazil's triumphant Confederations Cup campaign in June with a right leg injury.
