Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma termed their last game which the hosts won by 46 runs as the perfect one.
Skipper Virat Kohli's unbeaten 92-run innings went in vain as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) lost to Mumbai Indians.
This is the first win for Mumbai in this edition of the cash-rich league.
"It wasn't the ideal start for us. I thought Umesh bowled in the right areas. So it was important to spend some time and it was better to bat with the dew coming in. It was a perfect game for us," Rohit said after the match.
Rohit said although they lost the last three games but his side played good cricket.
"We lost the last three games, but we were playing good cricket. I think me batting at four gives the balance to the side and gives the new guys the freedom to bat at the top," he said.
"It is important to finish off games. But I will do whatever the team wants in terms of batting position to get the right balance for the side. Lewis is exciting to watch. Once he gets a start, it's hard to bowl at him," he added.
Left arm spinner Krunal Pandya, who played an important role in Mumbai's win said: "All the four games, we were upto the mark and they were close games. Finally, we have won. Want to continue the winning form. It's a good sign for the team."
Krunal was the most successful bowler, scalping three wickets for 28 runs.
