Iran football team to play in Lebanon despite Beirut blasts

Despite the blasts which targeted Iran's embassy in Beirut Tuesday, Iranian football team will play with Lebanon in Beirut in AFC Asian Cup qualifier, official IRNA news agency reported.

Quoting the sources accompanying the Iranian team to Beirut, the report said that "Iran will play the Lebanese soccer team scheduled for today (Tuesday) evening" in a Beirut stadium.

Tuesday, twin blasts targeted Iran's embassy in Beirut. In the incident, Iran's cultural advisor Ebrahim Ansari was killed.

The blasts left 23 dead and 146 injured.
