Iran's Foreign Ministry denounced the US plan to set up an Army force near Syria's border with Turkey and Iraq as a "blatant interference" in Syria's domestic affairs, media reports said on Tuesday.
The US plan is a "clear example" of interference in Syria's internal affairs, which complicates the crisis and leads to instability, Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said.
Qasemi urged Washington to reverse what he called "destructive" policies in the Middle East, Xinhua news reported, quoting Press TV.
Turkey has also slammed the US decision to establish a new border army with the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) in order to secure Turkish and Iraqi borders with Syria.
The US-led coalition issued a written statement on Sunday and confirmed it would set up a 30,000-strong new border security force with the YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces.
