Iran's Arak heavy water reactor dispute with the six world powers has almost been solved during their nuclear negotiations, the country's atomic chief said Saturday.

"As for Arak heavy water reactor, we had negotiations with the P5+1 group. We proposed to redesign the core of the reactor and to reduce plutonium output to one fifth (of the plant's capacity) which was welcomed by the P5+1 group," Xinhua quoted Ali-Akbar Salehi, head of Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran, as telling a TV channel.

"We also completed dilution of 103 kilogramme of 20 percent enriched uranium stockpile to five percent enriched uranium on April 12," he said, adding that "generally, the case of dilution is closed."
