If filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh loved the simple tale in "The Lunchbox", he is equally wowed by Irrfan's performance in the movie.
Lauding the film, Ghosh tweeted: "So good to see films like 'The Lunchbox'. Simple stories of life told so wonderfully. I loved the film."
"However, in 'The Lunchbox' there is an actor called Irrfan. Monster of an actor. Such awesome pitch perfect acting. Total respect," further wrote the director who had impressed everyone with his film "Kahaani".
Directed by debutant Ritesh Batra, the movie, also starring Nimrat Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, won Critics' Week Viewers Choice Award at the 66th Cannes International Film Festival and audience award at the World Cinema Amsterdam Audience Award.
It is set to release in India Sep 20.
