The Sunni radical group Islamic State (IS) has executed a Maldivian who had joined them in Iraq, by pushing him off a building, a media report said on Wednesday.
The Maldivian was executed last month after a so-called IS court sentenced him to death. The man was prosecuted alongside two others, who were also executed in the same manner, Haveeru Online reported.
The nature of their crime is not yet known.
The Maldivian had reached Iraq via Syria following the Iraqi government's campaign against the IS in Tikrit city.
This is the first report of a Maldivian fighting alongside the IS, according to Haveeru.
