The Islamic State (IS) militants have apprehended a number of people for wearing pants on the streets in Syria's eastern province of Deir Ezzor, media reported.
The terrorists detained a group of people wearing pants in the city of al-Mayadin in Deir Ezzor and took them to their security stations, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (syriahr) reported Saturday.
The militants, then, informed the detainees relatives that they must bring "loose clothes" for the arrested people to be released.
IS extremists also tore some people's pants on the streets by using sharp instruments, syriahr said, adding that the terrorists also whipped 3 men for "smoking cigarettes" and 2 others for "letting their wives go outside without wearing Hijab" in Syria's northeastern province of al-Hasakah.
The IS terrorists currently control swathes of territory across Syria and Iraq. They have been committing heinous crimes in the captured areas, including mass executions and beheading of people.
The militants have suffered huge blows over the past weeks as Iraqi army continues to retake some key areas in the country's central and Western parts. The group has also been hit with numerous setbacks in neighboring Syria.
