Singer Zayn Malik has reportedly been in touch with his ex-fiancee Perrie Edwards through text messages as he wants them to be "friends".
A source has claimed that the former One Direction star has been sending text messages to the Little Mix singer, whom he broke up with last year following four years of dating, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
"Perrie unblocked Zayn's number recently and the pair have been texting again. He is on a mission to try to at least win back her friendship. They have only texted so far but he would really like them to meet in person," an insider told Look magazine.
However, the source said that Edwards is not interested in having a reconciliation with the 23-year-old star.
"Perrie has made it clear that she is not interested in a reconciliation right now. Her friends are worried that it is a bad idea to even chat with him, but she is fine for now," the insider added.
