The professional standards of the Indian Super League (ISL) augur well for Indian football, says Kerala Blasters FC assistant coach Trevor Morgan.
Morgan, who earlier successfully coached city giants East Bengal, Saturday said the ISL would make the players plying their trade in the I-League more experienced.
Praising the playing surfaces, organisation, and the "more professional" approach seen in the ISL, he said "it will take Indian football forward".
"When the players come back to their respective I-League clubs, you will have players with better experience."
Interacting with the media on the eve of his side's match against Atletico de Kolkata, Morgan said the Blasters needed to start scoring goals and winning matches.
The Blasters are yet to open their points kitty, having lost both their games.
On Atletico, he said the Kolkata-based team was playing well and deserved its position at the top with three wins and a draw.
Asked about his team's injured forward Michael Chopra's condition, Morgan shied away from giving a direct reply.
"He hurt his ankle. He has gone to hospital for an X-ray. I can't comment beyond that."
